The CAS EMAIL Astronomical Discussion Group

To encourage communication amongst the members the CAS has an EMAIL discussion group - this group is not moderated so all messages you send will be circulated to all the list members. While the list is maintained primarily for members of The Croydon Astronomical Society anyone else who has an interest in our Societies activities are invited to join.

After lots of problems with Topica Altair_B is now on the move and is now on Google Groups. We have sent invites to all those members who were on Topica to join Google Groups however if you not receive one or have only just decided to join Altair_B you can use the subscription box below.

Google Groups has a number of advantages over Topica ( it allows you to post to it for a start !).

You can chose to receive the messages by Email in a number of formats, via a RSS feed or login to see the messages in your Google Groups account. While this requires your active involvement to go and look for messages you can then see them as a topic thread - assuming that people reply to the emails or use the appropriate reply button on the web interface.

Unfortunately we are unable to import the Altair_B archive on Topica into Google - we are currently trying to find a way of saving it - in case that does not happen please copy any messages you wish to keep to your own computer.

The Committee reserve the right to remove any people from the list who post inappropriate material or indeed lots of trivia to the list. In general, subscribers will be sent an EMAIL warning before they are removed unless the material is illegal or offensive.
