Perseid Meteor Shower - Sunday 12th August, 2012 (Check phone for message)
We are planning to be at the observatory on Sunday Night 12th /13th August 2012 from 21:00 BST if it is clear to observe the Perseid Meteor Shower. Please check the recorded message on the observatory phome 020 8668 9642 to check if we will be there. It is also worth looking out the nights before and after this as the peak of the shower is quite broad. The rate increases towards the early morning as the earth turns to face the meteor stream. However the Moon will rise in the early morning making the meteors more difficult to see.
