Croydon Astronomical Society

Croydon Astronomical Society Lectures are held on alternate Fridays on the dates shown below from 7:45 pm to about 10:00 p.m. in the Lecture Theatre of the Royal Russell School, Coombe Lane, Croydon, Surrey. The Lecture Theatre is located on the lower ground floor of the Great Hall, which can be identified by the floodlit belfry. The entrance is on the opposite side of the building to the car park at the far end. There is a large car park on the left shortly after you drive in the gates.

The Royal Russell School is in Coombe Lane, Croydon  about 200 yds from Ballards Way.

How to find the Royal Russell School

Our meetings are held in the building in the centre of the mauve circle.

 Here is a Google Maps composite Map & Satellite Image - the car park is on the left inside the entrance. The lectures are in the building south of the Tennis Courts (The Great Hall) - the entrance to the lecture theatre (Room G4) is down the steps on the South side of the Great Hall.

Public Transport

You can get to the school using Croydon Tramlink - the Coombe Lane Tramstop is the yellow dot just East of the school entrance on the map above. You can get there directly from East Croydon Station and with a maximum of one change from Wimbledon, Beckenham, New Addington & Elmers End as well as all stops in between. Route 3 the green one on the Tramlink map takes you to Coombe Lane Tramstop for the  Royal Russell School.
